WHITE & BLACK PEARLS AT THE RE-VOTEWith the game now down to two tribes and
everyone is aware of how the Pearls work, this post will explain how they come into play in the event of two (or more) individuals go into a tie-break situation. I know you're wondering
why this is being addressed now and not in the rules when the game began, this is simply because the Pearls abilities were to be revealed at Tribal Council and not to factor into any strategy for those who were yet to attend a vote.
Back on day one we told everyone that the Pearls would remain a mystery until such a time you attended Tribal Council - since there was a complaint that it wasn't addressed, people missed that stipulation.
iSurv1vor does it's utmost to cover all bases and scenarios. That being said, if you don't read things in full or challenge us on what's what then we can't evolve and grow. Your input to Production is paramount to how future seasons are shaped and how we communicate to everyone to ensure that the game is fair. That being said, let's get into the re-vote mechanics.
We will use the four eliminated players (and two quitters) as an example of how a Tribal Council would go down with a tie-break
Jessica holds a WHITE PEARL, Gibson holds a BLACK PEARL
If The Vote Ties With Nobody Holding A Pearl
If the vote ties 3-3 or 2-2-2, those players with the most votes (per the usual rules) would not re-vote. The person holding the Black Pearl (regardless if they're involved in the tie or not) will still be unable to vote,
however, the White Pearl holder will still retain the second vote at the re-vote. So in this instance, at the re-vote Jessica would vote twice again as she has her vote plus the vote Gibson would have cast to eliminate.
Example; if the vote tied 3-3 between Jela and Banks, at the re-vote Jessica would cast
two votes whilst Gibson does not vote.
If the re-vote fails and a majority has not been reached, the players involved in the tie AND the Black Pearl holder (as they did not vote) become immune and the other players would draw rocks to determine who is eliminated.
Example; Jela, Banks and Gibson (as the non-voting persons in the re-vote) would become immune from the rock draw. Jessica, Sherry and Dustyn would draw rocks.
If The Vote Ties With Someone Holding A Pearl
If Jessica is holding the White Pearl is involved in the tie, she will still retain the Black Pearl holders (Gibson's) vote and cast just one vote against the other eligible player(s). The Black Pearl holder (regardless of being involved in the tie or not) will still be prevented from voting.
Example; If the vote tied 3-3 between Jessica and Banks, at the re-vote Jessica would cast
one vote whilst Gibson does not vote.
If the re-vote fails and a majority has not been reached, the players involved in the tie and the Black Pearl holder (as they did not vote) will become immune and the other players will draw rocks to determine who is eliminated.
Example; Jessica, Banks and Gibson (as the non-voting persons in the re-vote) would become immune from the rock draw. Jela, Dustyn and Sherry would draw rocks.
And that's that. You're all up to speed.
